Free Admission and Family Fun on Community Appreciation Day on June 27
Lake Placid, NY – June 10, 2026 – The 2026 Lake Placid Horse Shows, Sponsored by The Bainbridge Companies, LLC, and Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, will feature two weeks of world-class equestrian competition at the North Elba Showgrounds, June 23-July 5. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the horse show on a special Community Appreciation Day Sponsored by Uihlein Foundation on Saturday, June 27, featuring FREE ADMISSION and lots of family fun attractions!
“Community Appreciation Day is a way to help celebrate all the improvements made to the horse shows over the past two years,” said Philip Richter, Chairman of the LPHSA, Inc. “We want to show our appreciation to the local community for their ongoing support. From competition ring and stabling area upgrades which the horse show undertook, to the new Clubhouse which the Town of North Elba provided with financial support from the State, we now have a whole new showgrounds. This has led to increased popularity of the horse show, and that is translating to more riders, more horses, more sponsors, and more visitors to Lake Placid and the surrounding areas. In recognition of this successful community partnership, we invite everyone in the community to come to the horse show and enjoy all we have to offer, especially on Community Appreciation Day which will have free admission and lots of family fun attractions!”
In addition to free admission, Community Appreciation Day Sponsored by Uihlein Foundation will feature the horse show’s annual Doggie Costume Contest Sponsored by Man and Beast, returning for its 33rd year! Everyone is invited to bring a leashed dog in costume to participate in the contest. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., and sign-up is at the ring. All canine contestants competing for ‘Top Dog’ receive special doggie treats!

Other Community Appreciation Day highlights will include tours of the new showgrounds, selfie stations, games, treats and lots of surprises, in addition to the chance to watch world-class horses and riders compete in classes such as the $32,000 CSI3* Speed Derby Presented by Purina Animal Nutrition and the $25,000 Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) 1.45m Jumper Classic.
Many of the nation’s best riders will be competing, including previous Lake Placid Grand Prix champions such as Laura Chapot and Alex Matz, two of only seven riders to sweep both Lake Placid Grand Prix events in the same year. Other previous Lake Placid Grand Prix winners entered this year include Molly Ashe Cawley, Nick Dello Joio, Brianne Goutal-Marteau, Devin Ryan, Catherine Tyree Flores, Jimmy Torano, Jordan Coyle and Philip McGuane. Joining them are other top Grand Prix stars such as six-time U.S. Olympian McLain Ward.
Tickets for the horse shows are available at the gate. Admission is free each Tuesday, $8 each Wednesday-Friday, and $12 each Saturday-Sunday, except for Community Appreciation Day on June 27 which is free. Veterans get 1/2 off daily, and children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
