Record Number of Entries Rave About the “Best Two Weeks of a Horseman’s Summer”
Lake Placid, NY – July 5, 2026 – A day of Classics brought a close to 2026 Lake Placid Horse Shows (LPHS), Sponsored by The Bainbridge Companies and Presented by Sea Shore Stables at the North Elba Showgrounds.
Taking top honors in the $25,000 Knockers Field/Postage Stamp Farm 1.45m Jumper Classic was JJ Torano on Dora Du Valon. Only four of 36 starters qualified for the jump-off by riding clear over the 16-effort, first-round course designed by Alan Wade, course designer for the 2028 Olympic Games. None of them managed to go clean over the 9-effort tiebreaker course and Torano claimed the win with the fastest four-fault ride, finishing in 39.440 seconds. Campbell Brown took second with a four-fault ride in 45.894 seconds on Mansini LTD and third went to Giavanna Rinaldi who had four faults and a time of 45.973 seconds on Roark OBF.
“The plan for Dora had been to do the FEI but she was swapped over to this National Grand Prix,” said Torano whose win earned him the horse show’s Leading Open Jumper Rider Award. “She’s an amazing animal. She’s a winner, and she wants to give 100% every time she walks in the ring. I can’t thank her enough.”

Campbell Brown rode Caiam D’Ivraie to victory in the $10,000 Lake Placid Club Grandview 1.35m SJHOF Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic. She topped a 46-horse field with two clean rides and the fastest jump-off time of 35.929 seconds.

Georgina Jewell took the top two places in the $5,000 Lutz Manfredi 1.25m Junior Jumper Classic, winning on Conny 424 and placing second on Kybalia SMH/SVN. Jole Kosloske rode Floralie De Riverland to victory in the $5,000 Chrome Horse Society Tequila 1.25m Amateur Jumper Classic.

Sophie Schaeffner rode Kokonut RFB to the win in The Hooker Family 1.15m Junior Jumper Classic, and Wendy Chapot Nunn rode Miss Keros to the win in the Higher Ground Farm 1.15m Amateur Jumper Classic.

Lindsey Delfiandra rode Frybalia SMH to victory in the MMK Equestrian 1.05m Amateur Jumper Classic, and Logan Elizabeth Smith rode Queen B De Boerendans to victory in the 1.05m Junior Jumper Classic.

Irene Neuwirth rode Scout’s Honor to first in the 3’6” Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic, Margot Peroni rode Yesterday to first in the 3’3” Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic, and Valerie Colin rode Connect The Dots to the win in the NAL Adult Amateur Hunter Classic. Neuwirth and Scout’s Honor earned the Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Championship.

Located in the historic Olympic town of Lake Placid, NY, the annual Lake Placid Horse Shows offer two weeks of exciting equestrian competition in a setting no other horse show can match that helps make the Lake Placid Horse Shows, “The Best Two Weeks of a Horseman’s Summer!” LPHS hosts competitions for riders of all levels and ages ranging from young children on polished ponies, to glistening hunters and Olympic veterans aboard their grand prix mounts. Competition starts at 8:00 a.m. daily and features classes running simultaneously in four spectacular show rings.
